In keeping with the concept of the city as a laboratory, fieldwork is an important part of Urban Archives research. We are mentoring undergraduate research partners and collaborators, offering course and independent study credit through our respective universities. Below, we have highlighted some of our students’ projects, most of which are completed projects.
Additionally, we are working with the University of Washington Libraries’ Digitial Initiatives unit in an ongoing collaboration to develop a digital archives of urban texts from around the world. Data collected by us and our students are thoroughly arranged, described, and made available to the public through our Digital Collections repository.
